Fishing
Cast your line in one of the world’s top fishing locations
Baja Peninsula’s East Cape is regarded as one of the best fishing locations in the world. A short boat ride to the deep waters outside of the protected waters of Cabo Pulmo National Park offers spectacular fishing. Depending on the season, we regularly see dorado, (aka mahi-mahi), tuna, wahoo, snapper, grouper, sailfish, and marlin.
Deep Sea Fishing
The Castros are a local family that operates a fleet of 22-foot, center console fishing boats, called “pangas”. Local captains are excellent fishermen, outstanding water people and know the area well.
Our favorite guides is Kiki Castro. The rates are excellent and we suggest tipping at least 20%; if you’ve had a spectacular catch, adjust upward!). Rods, reels, and lures are provided, although fishermen are welcome to bring their own gear. The Castros also cater to fly-fishermen.
We highly recommend that you book your fishing trip in advance to be assured of a boat and favorite guide. Call or visit Cabo Pulmo Sport Center
Fly Fishing & Casting from the Shore
Fly fishing and casting from the shore has gained popularity in recent years. The gentle seas and white sandy beaches make for exciting rooster fishing. The Castros also cater to fly-fishermen.
