How to get to Cabo Pulmo
From San José del Cabo airport (1.5 hours)
Head north out of San José del Cabo on Highway 1 for 30 miles (around an hour) to the Cabo Pulmo Exit. The highway is well-paved and has gas stations and conveniences stores along the way.
The exit for Cabo Pulmo is just after the village of Las Cuevas at kilometer marker 92.5.
Pass through the village of Santa Cruz towards the coastal town of La Ribera. La Ribera is the last stop for supplies before Cabo Pulmo.
At La Ribera, stay right at the prominent fork in the road just beyond the Oxxo convenience store. The drive from La Ribera to Cabo Pulmo takes 17 miles (about 30 minutes). You’ll about 10 minutes on paved road and then 20 minutes on dirt road to Cabo Pulmo.
Once you enter Cabo Pulmo, look for Pepe’s Restaurant to the right and the Visitor Center to the left. Slow down here, as you need to take the sharp left onto the private road immediately past the Visitor Center (and prior to the La Caballero Restaurant) and follow the signs to BAJA PARADISE and enter the gate.
The caretaker’s office is to the right. Welcome to Baja Serenity!
Driving Tips
Be mindful of animals drifting onto the road from the shoulder (primarily cattle and horses).
Watch for bumps in the road (called topes).
